    Bryde Whale sighting in the Gulf of Thailand. Alvaro diving where the first ever to spot bryde whales around the waters of Koh Tao. In January 2010 the first two bryde whales have been spotted half way between Chumphon Pinnacle and Koh Nan Yuan island. The captain of the Alvaro dive boat reacted fast and turned the boat around quickly.     Just last week we saw a fantastically large whale shark in Chumphon pinnacle! Made the whole trip to Thailand worth it for many of our divers. Whalesharks are regular visitors of the larger pinnacles around Koh Tao and make the island one of the few places in the world, where a scuba diver can get so close to the largest shark in the oceans. In general, whalesharks like divers! They just love to swim through the bubbles and get an extra portion of oxygen. Just last week we saw a fantastically large whale shark in Chumphon pinnacle! Taraporn Resort

The Taraporn name came from one of the original families of Chalok Bann Kao. Their Property is located on the western part of Chalok Baan Kao, with their own Coconut palm lined beach called, Saan Jao, and the peace and quiet you search for on holiday, it really is the beautiful paradise Thailand is famous for.
The Taraporn Family have been involved with the Koh Tao tourism from the beginning, building the first bungalows for tourists on Koh Tao in 1985 and have a great knowledge of what visitors to the island are looking for and will cater to all your needs with the now famous Thai manner.

The Taraporn Bungalows are situated in a great location surrounded by coconut palms, giving it a relaxed atmosphere for a diving vacation or a family getaway. The Bungalows are simple wooden huts built on stilts and a stone’s throw from the water’s edge. Each Bungalow has 24-hour electricity and water, a fan, a shower and a western toilet. All the Bungalows are beachfront and have a sea view with a hammock hung up so you can relax and enjoy the evening sunsets on your own private deck. The bungalows vary in size and cater to all the different needs required for your stay. Larger Bungalows are available for families or larger groups of travelers.

The Restaurant

The Taraporn Restaurant is situated at the western end of Chalok Baan Kao and built on stilts over the water’s edge. Looking out over the Bay and Buddha rock, it has a great atmosphere for any meal of the day and friendly staff to help you enjoy the experience. The menu caters for all your needs from traditional Thai cuisine and barbecues to a great selection of western food. All ingredients are caught or picked fresh everyday.
