    Whale Shark Sighting

Just last week we saw a fantastically large whale shark in Chumphon pinnacle! Made the whole trip to Thailand worth it for many of our divers. Whalesharks are regular visitors of the larger pinnacles around Koh Tao and make the island one of the few places in the world, where a scuba diver can get so close to the largest shark in the oceans. In general, whalesharks like divers! They just love to swim through the bubbles and get an extra portion of oxygen. Just last week we saw a fantastically large whale shark in Chumphon pinnacle! Hi If we do a PADI Open Water Referral Course (ie do the basic pools skills and theory) before we come to thailand how much would it cost to complete the PADI Open Water Course? thanks
Oct. 19, 2011 by Athina, UK
Hello Athina,

The price for the last 4 open water dives and the PADI certification would be 5.800 THB.
Depending on how long ago you did your pool sessions you need to pass a scuba review (1.500 THB) prior to your course to refresh all the skills again.

Hi !. I am interested in doing all courses from Open Water to Divemaster. How much do 'Alvaro Diving' accommodation cost for the five weeks ?. Am I likely to find somewhere a Divemaster job?. Thank you.
Nov. 19, 2010 by Federico Soler, Spain/Barcelona
Hi Federico,
We can offer you a Taraporn bungalow for 7.500 THB per month. Also there are plenty of long term rental bungalows spread around Koh Tao and we can help you to find one as well. To get a job after your Divemaster training depends on the season and also on how many languages you speak.

Hi I would like to ask you if we can dive in Koh Tao with you. I have no certification but I made OWD course a couple of years ago and I also took many divings (which I have written in my dive book). My husband is Advanced OPD and he has his certification. So, Can we dive with you ? Please, let me know!. We are going to Samui in March. Many thanks Laly

Hallo Laura,

with which organisation did you do your Open Water Course? If it was PADI or SSI we can check on the internet your certification.
Otherwise we will have a look at your Dive Logbook and if everything in there looks good you can go for a some dives.

If you have any further questions please send me a mail to: info@alvarodiving.com

Sunny greetings from Koh Tao,

I'm interested in the freediving course, But being not a good swimmer myself, what is the requirement for taking part in the free dive? as well after the completion, are we suppose to receive a certificate of sort?
Oct. 12, 2010 by Justin Poh, Brunei
Hallo Justin,
you don't have to be a very good swimmer, but you should be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. After completing the course you will receive a certification card.

My husband and I will be completing the theory and pool dives at home before arriving in Thailand. Is it possible to do the open water training dives only to receive the certification? How much would this cost, and how long would it take? Thank you!!
Dec. 15, 2011
To give you a quote we need to know if you are doing a PADI or SSI course at home.
Sunny greetings from Koh Tao
